Kamal Aur Meena: Netizens want THIS actress to play Meena Kumari in her biopic and love story with Kamal Amrohi [Watch]

Bollywood veteran actress Meena Kumar is still considered one of the most popular icons of the golden age of Hindi cinema. Saregama, along with Bilal Amrohi and its other partners recently announced a biopic based on Meena's love story with her producer-husband Kamal Amrohi on their Instagram.

In the video, there is a vintage pictures of the late actor along with some letters written in Urdu. The video also has Meena Kumari and Kamal's voice. The video showcases a shot of Meena from Pakeezah, along with caption, 'A filmmaker A Muse Their star-crossed love story A dream that refused to die A love that went beyond the grave'. The video ends with Chalte Chalte from Pakeezah.

Within no time, the post was filled with various comments. One user wrote, 'Cast Shraddha Kapoor as Meena', and another commented saying, 'Shraddha will be a great choice for this'. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote 'Kamal and Meena will chronicle their 20-year journey, starting from their first meeting when she was just 18 and he was 34, to the creation, filming and release of the classic Pakeezah. Siddharth P Malhotra known for his work in Maharaj and Hichki - will direct the film. The project also boasts an impressive lineup of acclaimed talents, including AR Rahman, Irshad Kamil, Bhavani Iyer, and Kausar Munir. Produced by Bilal Amrohi (grandson of Kamal Amrohi), Saregama and Rohandeep Singh, the film begins shooting in 2025 and released in 2026... Casting is in progress'. Talking about Meena Kumari's career, she was seen in films like Baiju Bawra, Parineeta, Dil Apna Aur Preet Parai, Dil Ek Mandir, Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam, Kaajal and more. Meena and Kamal got married in a secret ceremony on February 14, 1952.
