Ranveer Singh did THIS for Shaktimaan movie, Mukesh Khanna says, 'Doesn't have right...'

For quite some time, there have been rumours that Ranveer Singh will play Shaktimaan on the big screen. However, the speculations started to fizzle out after some time. The iconic superhero was portrayed by Mukesh Khanna during the 90s on TV. Often, Mukesh has expressed his displeasure over Ranveer's movie. The actor doesn't want anyone else to play the part. In a new interview, Mukesh revealed how Ranveer Singh tried to convince him a lot so that he could get cast as Shaktimaan.

Despite Ranveer Singh's efforts, the veteran actor is in no mood to give a nod to the project. While talking to Bollywood Thikana, Mukesh said, "That poor guy was sitting in front of me for three hours. But it doesn't reflect on his face, what it needs to play Shaktimaan. He looks like he will con somebody. But he is a terrific actor."

Further in this entertainment news, the Mahabharat actor praised the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani star for his energy. The Shakitmaan star criticised Singh for his nude photoshoot and said that someone who has this "image" is not apt to play the iconic superhero on screen. But Ranveer's energy to convince him was futile, as Mukesh clearly said he was not on board with his casting in the titular role.

Last year, on his YouTube challenge Bheeshm, Mukesh Khanna talked about the movie. As reported by the Times of India, in the video, Mukesh said that a contract has been signed and it is going to be a 200-300 crore movie, and Sony Pictures, the production house that backed Spider-Man, will make the movie. In his video, the veteran star didn't reveal who would be the cast. But he said that the acto is someone big.

So far, Ranveer Singh has not reacted to any criticism he received for the Shaktimaan casting. The actor is currently busy with Aditya Dhar's pending film. Along with Sinhh, the movie also stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan and Arjun Rampal. The actor will be next seen in Farhan Akthar's Don 3. The role was earlier played by Shah Rukh Khan. Ranveer will share the screen space with Kiara Advani in the gangster thriller. The shooting is expected to begin next year.
