The Kapoor family is one of the oldest families working in the film industry for decades. From Raj Kapoor to Kareena Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor, talent is ingrained in the family. However, not everyone in the family witnesses the same kind of success and we have seen that already. But back in the past, during the 50s, there was another Kapoor who also struggled to achieve great success in his acting career.
The Unlucky Kapoor actor
The actor we are talking about is Ravindra Kapoor. Ravindra has worked in many movies in his acting career of 38 years. However, he struggled to make a name for himself like other Kapoor actors and sadly didn't get the kind of recognition one expected him to get. Ravindra Kapoor was Prithviraj Kapoor's cousin. Prithviraj was the first big star of the Kapoor family and also the brother of Kamal Kapoor. But this didn't work in Ravindra's favour.
Raj Kapoor was Ravindra's nephew and he got no help from him either. Despite being one of the biggest filmmakers, Raj never cast his uncle in any of his films made under RK Films Productions. Coming to his career, Ravindra began his acting career with small roles in Hindi films like Thokar (1953) and Paisa (1957). After not getting the kind of success he expected with Hindi movies, he decided to work in Punjabi films. His debut Punjabi film was titled Chambe Di Kali and was released in 1960 and was a big hit. Ravindra continued working in Punkabi films for some time.
After tasting some success there, Ravindra Kapoor returned to working in Hindi movies. Yet he never got any lead roles. Some of his movies include Aaya Sawan Jhoom Ke, Yaadon Ki Baaraat and Karavan, The Burning Train, and Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. But I never got enough credit for my work. Ravindra's last film was Benaam Badshah, which was released in the year 1991.
