The actor we are talking about is Bobby Deol. During the 90s, Bobby won hearts with his movie Soldier, alongside Preity Zinta. The movie created a storm at the box office during the year 1998. It was reportedly the second film of that year to earn big numbers. Made on a budget of Rs 8.25 crore, the film earned Rs 38.88 crore at the box office. At that time, apart from Shah Rukh Khan's Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, it was Soldier that was widely loved by the audiences.
Soldier was directed by Abbas Mustan and also starred Rakhee Gulzar, Johny Lever, Suresh Oberoi, and Dalip Tahil. The movie's songs, composed by Anu Malik Surider and Surender Sodhi, were also ruling the chartbusters.
Thanks to the movie's great success, other movies like Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Tha, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Pyaar Kiya toh Darna Kya and Ghulam couldn't be as big as Bobby's Soldiers. The movie was remade in 2000 in Dhallywood as Jamin Nai and in Tamil as Villu. After the action drama, many thought Bobby would be a big star. But he struggled to give a hit like this again until 2023, when he played a villain in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal. It also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Triptii Dimri.
