Bollywood actor Diljit Dosanjh has been surrounded by controversy over the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3. He has been receiving backlash and netizens demanded a boycott of the movie. Some even suggested Diljit's Indian citizenship be revoked.
On Friday, June 27, 2025, Pakistan-based movie theatre Cinegold Plex shared a glimpse from their theatre which was running Sardaar Ji 3. The film was released everywhere except India. Despite all the online flak, the film was a success in Pakistan. Diljit Dosanjh, who plays the male lead in the film he took to his Instagram stories on Sunday to share the audience's reaction to the film from Pakistan.

Diljit re-posted a video that showed audience reactions to Sardaar Ji 3 in Pakistan theatre. In the video, he posted Hania's scene and wrote, "12 shows on ultra screens the largest in the country. Overwhelming response from the audience for Sardaar Ji 3. Come and watch!"

Diljit shared yet another post which shows that the film has collected Rs 11.03 crore worldwide in two days of release. The film managed to collect Rs 4.32 crore on the opening day and on the second day, it got Rs 6.71 crore worldwide.
Sardaar Ji 3 controversy
Diljit shared the trailer of Sardaar Ji 3 on his social media and within no time, netizens slammed him. The film's team immediately received flak for casting Hania after the Pahalgam attack in April. The Indian Government had decided to not cast Pakistani actors in films.
While speaking to BBC Asian Network, Diljit said that the film was shot months before the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor. Prominent film bodies have written to Sunny Deol and the makers of Border 2 to drop Diljit from their film and also asked Imtiaz Ali to replace him in the upcoming project.
