Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur, a popular businessman, passed away while playing polo in London, United Kingdom, on June 12. Sunjay suffered from cardiac arrest after swallowing a bee. Sunjay Kapur's last rite was held today in Delhi. Several colleagues and friends of Sunjay Kapur, Saif Ali Khan, and Kareena Kapoor were spotted supporting Karisma Kapoor and her kids as they paid their last respects.
At the funeral, Karisma Kapoor was seen in an emotional moment with her son Kiaan. She was seen consoling him during Sunjay Kapur's last rites while Kareena Kapoor backed her sister throughout the event.
On June 18, Sunjay Kapur's family released a press note, mentioning the details about the funeral, including time and place. The details about the prayer meeting were also mentioned, which will be held at Taj Palace, New Delhi, from 4 to 5 pm on June 22. The release was signed by Sunjay Kapur's mother, his wife, Priya Kapur, and children, Safira, Azarias, Samaira, and Kiaan.
A few hours before his sad demise, Sunjay Kapur took to X (formerly Twitter) to put out his condolence message for the tragic Air India plane crash. "Terrible news of the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers are with all the families affected. May they find strength in this difficult hour. #planecrash," he wrote. Reportedly, as per the witnesses, Sunjay was healthy, fine, and cheerful on the day of his death. However, the businessman reported that he was not able to breathe properly. Sunjay Kapur got married to Karisma Kapoor in 2003 in a lavish wedding and were blessed with two children, Samaira and Kiaan. However, in 2014, the couple decided to part ways, and their divorce was finalized in 2016. After divorce, Sunjay got married to model and actor Priya Sachdev. Both shared two beautiful children, Azarias and Safira.
