Actor who was Amitabh Bachchan's biggest competitor

The actor we are talking about is Vinod Khanna. He was born on October 6, 1946, and made his acting debut with the movie Mere Apne in 1968. He was the main villain in the film Mera Gaon Mera Desh. Following his debut movie, after a few years, Khanna gave 33 hits, which include Mere Apne, Achanak, Imtihaan, and many more. His career graph looked more promising than actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Jeetendra Kapoor, Rajesh Khanna, etc.

Back then, when he was at the peak of his stardom, Vinod Khanna charged Rs 35 lakh, whether he would shoot for a day or for 20 days! However, at the peak of his career, Khanna quit the film industry. He went to Pune and was refused in Osho's ashram. He stayed in the ashram for four years and stayed completely away from the film industry. He even followed him outside India.
