The year 2025 is going to be Aamir Khan's year it seems. The actor, who celebrated his 60th birthday on March 14, was given a special tribute by PVR. The cinema chain hosted an Aamir Khan film festival (March 14 to march 27) and re-released some of his most iconic films, aptly dubbing him the Cinema Ka Jaadugar. But this is not all, the actor has Lahore 1947 (as producer) and Sitaare Zameen Par, where he will play the lead while also being the producer, are all set to release in the theatres this year.
And now we have learnt some exciting news about Sitaare Zameen Par and Aamir Khan's role in it. The film is directed by RS Prasanna and also stars Genelia D'Souza. Yes, it is just a sequel to Taare Zameen Par, but only in theme. It is not like the story is going forward from where it stopped. Another interesting aspect we have learnt is that Aamir will be playing a never seen before role. A source close to the project tells us, "Aamir is the bad guy here for a change. While he was the one who helps and guides Darsheel Safary's character in Taare Zameen Par, in this one, he will be the one who will be guided by another character, to come on the right track."
The source also said that it will be a treat to watch for all Aamir Khan fans as it is something that he hasn't done before. "It is a film made with a lot of heart and while it will touch you emotionally, you will be laughing your hearts out as well, unlike Taare which left everyone teary eyed, if not weeping."
We also hear that Sitaare Zameen Par is ready and the makers are planning to release it around June-July, ahead of Lahore 1947 starring Sunny Deol in August 2025. Well, looks like Aamir is all set to get the audience back to the theatres with not just one but two amazing movies this year. Stay tuned to BollywoodLife for more updates on both these films and more entertainment news.
