Sonu Nigam is one of the most popular faces of the Indian music film industry. He has earned enormous fame through his songs. The singer, however, has now become a victim of social media identity theft. He took to his Instagram account to warn fans against the fake accounts that are being operated under his name. In a post, Sonu Nigam shared with his fans that they should beware of those reaching out to them using his name or as someone from his management team.
In a lengthy Instagram post that has gone viral in entertainment news, Sonu Nigam started off by stating that it has come to his notice that someone is misusing his identity on social media. Further he wrote, "It has come to my attention that someone has been misusing my identity online. Please note that no one from my team has ever reached out to anyone on my behalf for any reason. If someone claims to be from my management & contacts you out of the blue, please treat it with caution!"
Sonu Nigam also further clarified that he has not been on X (formerly known as Twitter) since 8 years. He added that there are accounts with his name that are actually being run by someone else and posting controversial things. He urged fans to report or block such accounts. In the caption, he wrote, "I just wanted to take a moment to clarify something important. If you come across any suspicious/fake messages under my name, it would be great if you could report or block the account. Thank you everyone for your support and understanding." Fans have extended support to him in messages.
