The investigation into this incident reportedly took place regarding an event that occurred in 2014, as stated in a report by Manorama Online.

Earlier, Minu Muneer was arrested by the police last month due to a defamation case filed against her by Balachandra Menon. The reason for the case was Minu's insulting posts about Balachandra Menon on social media. After being arrested by the Kochi Infopark police, Minu Muneer was later released on bail. Minu had made allegations on social media that during the filming of 'De Ingottu Nokkiye', director Balachandra Menon sexually assaulted her.
The actress had also filed a police complaint against Balachandra Menon for her sexual assault. Minu's arrest occurred after her request for anticipatory bail was rejected. The arrest was based on a complaint filed by Balachandra Menon, who alleged that Minu was defaming him. Following her arrest, Minu was released on bail with two sureties. The actress was taken into custody by the Thirumangalam police as part of the ongoing investigation into the case.
