Varun Dhawan’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari Gets U/A Certificate, CBFC Cuts Kissing Scenes

Varun Dhawan is all set to charm the audience again with his upcoming film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, releasing in just two days. Directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Dharma Productions, the romantic comedy also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, and others in key roles, According to Bollywood Hungama, the film has been cleared by the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) with a U/A 13+ certificate. However, the board made a few edits before approval: 60% of the kissing scenes in the film have been cut. The word "guard" has been muted throughout. In one scene, Varun's character says something derogatory and tries to cover it up by claiming he said "guard." The makers were also asked to include an anti-alcohol warning in the film.

As per the censor certificate, the film runs for 135.45 minutes, that's 2 hours, 15 minutes, and 45 seconds.

Varun's Reaction on Clash With Kantara: Chapter

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari will hit theatres on October 2, the same day as Rishab Shetty's Kantara: Chapter 1, setting up an interesting box office clash.

When a fan asked Varun during a #Varunsays Q&A on X (formerly Twitter), "Kantara se darr nahi lag raha?" Varun replied simply with: "Release date toh production wale set karte hain. Hum apni film pe mehnat kar rahe hain aur logon ko hasane ki koshish. I hope on October 2nd, everyone is laughing, smiling, and celebrating."
