Actress Rupali Ganguly who plays the role of Anupamaa in a popular show has become a household name now. Time and again she has proved her versatility and has managed to win million of hearts with her acting skills. Well, the actress once spoke her heart out that she was not considered successful but a failure in her family? Yes, you read that right! Anupamaa actress Rupali spoke to Pinkvilla and revealed how people reacted to her work in the television fraternity and also said that she has come across the casting couch incidents.
Rupali Ganguly was called a failure?
In an earlier interview with Pinkvilla, Rupali Ganguly said that she did not do well in films, and that was a choice she made because predominantly casting couch existed in the industry at that time. She also said that some people did not come across it but people like her did come across it and she decided not to make that choice and people considered her as a failure as she comes from a film family.
The Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai actress also said that everyone taunted her for not having a successful career and criticized her for working in the television industry. She also said that she did feel small at that time, but today she feels proud. She said that Anupamaa has given her a stature or position that she has always dreamt of and hoped for. She said that Anupamaa is life-changing for her and she is grateful to God and her father.

She also added that she had self-doubts when the makers offered her the role of Anupamaa and asked the team if she would slim down. But, the makers assured her that they were looking for a motherly figure and not the heroine of the show.
